Reddy, the 17th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was earlier in a
political dilemma. Prior to the recently held Andhra Pradesh assembly
elections, he wasn’t sure if the YSR Congress Party could defeat Chandrababu
Naidu’s Telugu Desam. Hence, Reddy decided to approach a natural ally,
Congress. His desperation was so high that he was willing to merge his party
with the Congress.
