THESE
days Congressmen use this famous advertising line to describe the state of
affairs in their party. The reference is particularly to de facto Congress
chief Rahul Gandhi, heir to the Nehru-Gandhi dynastic legacy. While Sonia
Gandhi is still the Congress party president, she has for all practical
purposes taken a back seat and given Rahul the party reins. Rahul and his brand
of politics is seen to be elitist; he finds it difficult to connect with people
(let alone with Congressmen). Rahul has the arrogance of an heir apparent, but
the most damaging aspect of his politics is his dislike for politics and
politicians.
