The Competition Commission of India
(CCI)—the competition watchdog—has a reputation for more misses than hits. Half
the people and companies indulging in unfair business practices are beyond its
mandate; as far as the other half is concerned, a good number of cases it books
gets closed after investigations because of internal contradictions.
