of the Republic of India—the 19 months of Emergency—which was also touted as ‘Anushasan
Parv’. The period between May 26, 2014, and June 26 also saw the
promulgation of discipline (anushasan), with government offices in New
Delhi witnessing the revival of governance. But this time draconian powers were

leader has led by example.
