Slippery times ahead

Rajiv Nayan Choubey a 1981 IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed as Director-General, Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH). He will be the first IAS officer to head the highly technical arm of the Oil Ministry. Choubey is an Additional Secretary rank officer and was serving as Development Commissioner (Handlooms) in the Ministry of Textiles. DGH is the most important department in the Oil Industry and it is the lifeline of the Ministry of Petroleum.
